Hemel Hempstead Cycling Club
The Hemel Hempstead Cycling Club (HHCC) run the Bovingdon Bomber Criterium series at the popular HHCC Bomber Circuit owned by Drift Limits. The Bomber is a 1km long smooth grippy purpose built racing circuit. It’s fast, sweeping, flat and technical and always produces good racing. Racing starts on May 16th this year with a 12 round series for men and women. The series is governed by British Cycling and all races are Regional C+ events with full BC points and cash prizes.
For the 2018 season we shall be putting two races on every Wednesday evening from 16th May through to 1st August comprising 12 rounds with an mens (open) race followed by a womens race. The races will alternate weekly with a categoy 2/3 & W2/3/4 on week one then a category 3/4 & W3/4 on week two then repeat. All races are Regional C+ events with full BC points.
We are pleased to have local Berkhamsted based shop and racing club Lovelo Cycle Works supporting our series this season – they will be adding to the overall prize pot and providing services & parts at some events. They are good friends of HHCC so go visit www.lovelocycleworks.co.uk
KING & QUEEN OF THE BOMBERÂ
Instead of issuing weekly prize money this season, we shall run a season long King & Queen of the Bomber (KOB & QOB) award which will reward the highest scoring male and female riders and will be based on points (15pts for a win through to 1pt for 10th place). Full BC points will be available as usual.
To qualify for the overall KOB & QOB awards you need to have entered at least 3 races and your best 5 results will count to your final score (3 or 4 results will also count if that is all you have competed in). Top Ten rankings will be published weekly after every round.
